Pat Jones
Director of Healthy Church Ministries
Pat Jones spends much of his time on the road working closely with churches. He conducts weekend church consultations, and then makes monthly return visits to coach the pastor and church along. As Director of Healthy Church Ministries, his role focuses almost exclusively on revitalizing and energizing local churches.
Pat Jones has pastored the smallest United Brethren church, and the largest United Brethren church. Upon graduating from the Huntington University Graduate School of Christian Ministries in 1982, he and his wife, Pam, moved to Pennsylvania. There, he pastored three different churches:
- Initially, Pat served as part-time associate pastor of a church in Shippensburg while also starting a new church in Carlisle, Pa. That was the smallest church.
- Next, he pastored a church in Harrisburg, Pa., for three years. During that time, the attendance increased from 135 to 220.
- In 1991, he became senior pastor of King Street Church in Chambersburg, Pa. (the largest church). Under his leadership during the next 14 years, King Street's average attendance increased from around 800 to 1500.
In addition to his pastoral roles, Pat has filled a variety of conference and denominational positions. In 2005, he left King Street to become Director of Healthy Church Ministries for the US churches.
Pat and Pam have two children.
- Jalonna is the children’s pastor at a large church in Wisconsin.
- Justin is a ministerial student at Indiana Wesleyan University in Marion, Ind.
Pat’s educational experience includes:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Bible and Religion from Huntington University (1981).
- A Master of Christian Ministries from the Huntington University Graduate School of Christian Ministries (1983).
- A Master of Divinity from Evangelical School of Theology in Myerstown, Pa. (1988).
