Steve Dennie
Communications Director
Steve Dennie came to the national office in 1978 while still a senior at Huntington University. He served as assistant editor back in the days when we published Sunday school curriculum. Upon graduating in 1979 with a Communications degree, he went fulltime in that role.
In 1981, Steve was named editor of The United Brethren, the denominational magazine. In 1993 his position was recrafted as Communications Director. Basically, he handles anything having to do with publications--brochures, the denominational newsletters, booklets, books, the websites, email, etc.
He and Pam were married in 1989 at Emmanuel Community Church in Fort Wayne, Ind. In 1998, they became part of a core group which started Anchor Community Church in Fort Wayne, Ind., an urban church just west of the downtown. Steve plays the keyboard in the worship team. Pam is a partner in Christen-Souers LLC, a CPA firm in Fort Wayne. Steve and Pam have two cats, Molly and Jordi.
Steve holds a Masters in Public Relations from Ball State University (1995). He has written six books, has published articles in over 40 Christian periodicals, and operates a commercial cite which markets announcement slides to churches, called RandomPokes.com. His collection of military bayonets is approaching the 50 mark. He also plays competitive table tennis, and loves reading pulp detective fiction. |
